Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC)
Break Free From Self-Criticism & Discover the Power of Self-Kindness
An evidence-based 8-week live online course | 16 June - 4 August 2025
This 8-week MSC course is for you if:
🖤 You're tired of that harsh inner voice constantly telling you "you're not enough" (and you're ready for a kinder relationship with yourself)
🖤 You want to swap out criticism and judgment for genuine self-encouragement (imagine cheering yourself on instead of tearing yourself down!)
🖤 You beat yourself up over mistakes and failures (and wish you could respond with understanding instead)
🖤 You're looking for practical ways to handle difficult emotions without being overwhelmed by them
🖤 You're ready for change - whether you're just starting your self-compassion journey or you're a professional (e.g. healthcare provider, meditation teacher, yoga instructor, coach, educator, person with a demanding high-stress job or managerial responsibilities) looking to deepen your practice or enhance your professional skills and client work
What you’ll experience in this 8-week journey:
👉🏽 Life-changing tools to transform how you talk to yourself during tough times (no more being your own worst enemy!)
👉🏽 A proven, science-backed approach to quiet your inner critic and nurture your compassionate voice instead
👉🏽 Simple but powerful skills to face difficult emotions with confidence rather than resistance
👉🏽 A toolbox of mindfulness and self-compassion practices that become yours for life (these aren't temporary fixes - they're lasting solutions)
Before & After:
The Self-Compassion Transformation
❌ BEFORE:
You wake up already criticizing yourself. That inner voice constantly whispers "not good enough" about everything from your work to your parenting to your appearance. Small mistakes trigger waves of shame that linger for days. Difficult emotions feel overwhelming—you either get consumed by them or push them away until they resurface stronger. Relationships suffer because you can't give from an empty cup. You're exhausted from the constant inner battle, but don't know how to stop it.
✔️ AFTER:
You start each day with a sense of having your own back. When you make mistakes (because everyone does), you respond with understanding rather than harsh judgment. Difficult emotions still arise, but you have practical tools to meet them with mindfulness instead of being overwhelmed. Sleep improves as self-criticism no longer keeps you awake at night. Your relationships transform as you bring this same compassionate awareness to your interactions. The inner critic still visits sometimes, but it no longer runs the show—you've developed a stronger, wiser inner voice that knows how to respond to life's challenges with courage, kindness and resilience.

What is Mindful Self-Compassion and why does it matter?
Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) isn't just another wellness trend—it's a life-changing approach backed by science and developed by pioneers Dr. Kristin Neff and Dr. Christopher Germer. This 8-week journey teaches you how to be there for yourself during life's toughest moments with the same warmth and understanding you'd offer a good friend.
At its core, self-compassion combines 3 essential elements:
🖤 Self-kindness instead of harsh self-judgment
🖤 Common humanity that connects us rather than isolates us in our struggles
🖤 Mindful awareness that helps us face difficulties without becoming overwhelmed
How this course will transform your life
Research consistently shows that people who practice self-compassion experience:
✨ Genuine confidence that doesn't depend on perfection
✨ Natural motivation that comes from encouragement rather than criticism (yes, you can achieve more by being kinder to yourself!)
✨ Emotional resilience to handle life's challenges without being overwhelmed
✨ Deeper connections with yourself and the important people in your life
✨ Healing in difficult relationships through compassionate understanding
✨ Greater happiness and overall life satisfaction
✨ The ability to truly savor everyday moments of joy
The science speaks for itself
👉🏽 When life gets tough, self-compassion becomes your superpower. Studies show it's one of our most effective tools for coping with major challenges like chronic pain, loss, or relationship difficulties. (Sbarra, Smith & Mehl, 2012; Hiraoka et al., 2015; Wren et al., 2012)
👉🏽 Your relationships improve. Self-compassionate people create healthier romantic partnerships, navigate conflicts more successfully, and naturally extend more compassion to others. (Neff & Beretvas, 2013; Yarnell & Neff, 2013; Neff & Pommier, 2013)
👉🏽 You take better care of yourself. Research reveals that people who practice self-compassion make healthier lifestyle choices—exercising more regularly, eating more mindfully, and prioritizing preventative healthcare. (Magnus, Kowalski & McHugh, 2010; Schoenefeld & Webb, 2013; Terry et al., 2013)
👉🏽 You become more resilient. Self-compassionate people maintain high personal standards without the crushing self-criticism when they fall short. This creates the emotional safety to take risks, learn from mistakes, and persist through challenges rather than giving up. (Neff, 2003b; Neff, Hseih, & Dejitthirat, 2007; Breines & Chen, 2012)

Frequently asked questions:
Q: I've never done mindfulness or something like this before - is this course suitable for beginners?
A: Absolutely! This course is designed for all levels, and you don’t need to have a prior mindfulness or self-compassion practice or knowledge of these topics.
Q: How much time do I need to allocate for this course?
A: The core commitment is attending the weekly 2.5-hour live sessions. While this is the minimum requirement, the real magic happens when you incorporate brief daily practices into your life between sessions. Even 5-10 minutes of practice on most days can create meaningful shifts in how you relate to yourself.
Q: I struggle with consistency. How can I make sure this doesn't become just another obligation in my busy life?
A: This is exactly why the course is designed the way it is! We focus on simple, practical techniques that integrate into real life - not ideal, perfect life. The supportive community environment helps maintain motivation, and many participants find these practices so immediately beneficial that they naturally want to continue. That said, if you genuinely cannot set aside 2.5 hours weekly right now, it might be better to join a future course when you can fully participate.
Q: What if I miss a session?
A: Life happens! All sessions are recorded, so you can catch up on anything you miss. We recommend attending live whenever possible for the full interactive experience, but the recordings ensure you won't miss any content. To get the Certificate of Completion in the end, you will have to have attended a minimum of 6 of the 8 live sessions.
Q: When are the live sessions?
A: The live sessions are on Zoom every Monday, starting 16 June and ending 4 August, for 2.5 hours each time. The session start time is 5 pm CET (6 pm Finland, 8 am US Pacific Time, 10 am US Eastern time - convert to your timezone HERE).
The live online 3-hour retreat takes place on Sunday 20 July at 4 pm CET (5 pm Finland).
Q: Is this therapy? How is it different?
A: While many find this course therapeutically beneficial and while Molly is a therapist, it's not therapy. Mindful Self-Compassion is an educational program teaching specific skills that complement therapy. Many therapists actually recommend this course to their clients! If you're currently in therapy, this course can work wonderfully alongside your therapeutic work.
Q: Will I have to share personal things during group discussions?
A: Never. You always control how much or how little you share. Many participants find value in listening to others' experiences, and sharing is always optional. We create a safe, respectful environment where everyone's boundaries are honored.
Q: What makes this different from reading books or using apps about self-compassion?
A: The live, interactive format creates a depth of learning that's difficult to achieve alone. You'll receive direct guidance, personalized feedback, and the powerful motivation of practicing alongside others. The community aspect often becomes one of the most treasured parts of the experience, creating connections and insights that solo learning simply can't provide. This course is the official science-backed and evidence-based course developed by self-compassion pioneers Dr Kristin Neff and Dr Christopher Germer.
Q: I'm worried self-compassion might make me complacent, lazy, selfish or less motivated. Is that true?
A: This is a common concern, but research shows the opposite is true! Self-compassion actually leads to greater resilience, motivation, and personal accountability than self-criticism. You'll learn how kindness toward yourself creates the emotional safety needed for genuine growth and positive change (for yourself and people around you!)
Q: How long will I have access to the course materials?
A: You'll have access to all recordings and materials for 3 months after the course concludes, giving you plenty of time to revisit sessions and reinforce your learning.
Let’s do this!
